Privacy Policy

The short version

Driver Journal does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers. We don't have servers. We don't run analytics. We don't share data with third parties because we don't have data to share.

What the app stores, and where

The app stores the following data locally on your device and, if you have iCloud Drive enabled, syncs it through your private iCloud container:

• Your driving sessions, pickups, dropoffs, and stop names you enter
• GPS coordinates recorded during pickup and delivery phases (used to calculate mileage and draw your route)
• Earnings, pay, tips, and any notes you add
• Your settings and preferences

This data is owned by you, lives in your Apple ID's iCloud account, and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it.

Location access

The app requests "Always" location access so it can record your route while in pickup or delivery phase, including when the app is in the background. Location data never leaves your device except via your private iCloud sync.

You can revoke or downgrade this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Driver Journal.

What's recorded vs. what isn't: recorded GPS points are algorithmically snapped to the road network so the route you see on the map matches the road you actually drove. As a side effect of this smoothing, the saved route segments do not preserve raw speed data — the app records distance and time, not how fast you were going at any given moment.

Map data

The app uses Apple's MapKit to display maps and snap your GPS trace to roads. These requests go directly from your device to Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy practices. We do not see or proxy these requests.

Support requests

If you contact us through the support form on this website, we receive what you choose to send: a description of the issue and, optionally, your email address for a reply. This is stored in our issue tracker on Cloudflare D1 and is used only to respond to and resolve your issue. We don't use it for marketing.

You can ask us to delete a support submission at any time by emailing support@threebeagles.net.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and note the change here. Material changes will be reflected in a TestFlight or App Store release note.
